Pioneer SX205 speaker problem

on my receiver when I turn the volume up the speakers are really distorted.Very low volume ok.What would cause this and is it fixable

What speakers do you have seeing as the sx205 is a receiver. Guess is crap speakers or crap speaker cables/connectors

I have tried my bose which I know work because the are hooked up in the house.Also tried my JBLs and both are the same using monster cable
