Playing games off an external hard drive on a laptop

So I recently bought the Razer Blade Pro laptop and I'm almost out of storage on the built in hard drive. Would it be possible to buy an external hard drive, and just install games off of that? I have USB 3.0, if that clarifies anything.

Yes, you can play games off an external hard drive. Doesn't really matter what kind of port it has, but the usb 3.0 will give you a decent speed.

How many SSD's are in it and how big are they? Is there an empty bay inside? I'd recommend installing another drive if you have the open bay. Use the external for backup.
