I have a full-time job and my own house... and I wish my home office was that clean...
Of course, if I were to post a picture of myself in my home office, everyone would think I'm in my parents' house too, especially because I look a good 10 years younger than I am, on top of being in my early 20's.
Point is that you should first move out of your own parents' house, then stop concluding that everyone else already hasn't =)

[citation][nom]zak876[/nom]I agree with Ghotz.....Sony had this coming.....they cant tell me what to do with my own machine.....its mine so i can do anything to it !!!!sony crossed the line and attacked Ghotz first though....so i'm not surprizes hackers retaliated......and hit them HARD!!![/citation]

i bet sony never even tried to beef up security when they started this war.

Nice shot! 😀 😀

May I ask the percentage of people that at the age of 21 are already working and out of their parents house? Also go see his other achievements besides hacking the iPhone and PS3. When the time comes he wont have problems finding a job.

[citation][nom]Madeuce[/nom]"The fault lies with the executives who declared a war on hackers"Backwards thinking at it's finest right there. Putting fault on the victim. Not too much unlike blaming the flirty woman for being raped...[/citation]
You're misunderstanding what he said. He doesn't approve the hackers that did this job and even stated that this is bad to the hacker community. He is however defending Sony engineers, which is quite different from what you're stating.

Dam the hackers!!! This guy is a complete moron and I beleive he and his friends Anonymous are indeed responsible for this criminal attack, and I sincerely hope the FBI finds every one of theses losers and prosecute them to the fullest extent of the law.

Sony is not the bad guy here they were victims of a cyber terrorism attack, and so were the people who's data was stolen.

[citation][nom]JerseyFirefighter[/nom]Letting you know that your douche skills have been honed for using the phrase "just saying"[/citation]

No offense taken. I imagine there are a few fires you could be putting out on the shore due to excessively greased douche gorillas.

You're generalizing. Not all hackers are criminals. In fact its because of them the internet is much more secure than in the past. Also can you offer any proof that geohotz and anonymous were involved in this, or are you just biased against them?

ITT people trying to insult a computer hacker for being nerdy and messy on a site dedicated entirely to computer hardware and technology.

Did you get lost on the way to Twitter?

Say hi to Glenn Beck for me.

Don't forget that people that get lost on the way to twitter or that put their personal e-mail address and password on the "can't connect, username or password error" on a Dsl modem generally make more than you, or me. As illustrated in this diagram:

[citation][nom]mister g[/nom]Amen, but if he wasn't on PSN how does he get new firmware upgrades to play around with?[/citation]
Unless something has changed, you don't need to have an account on the PSN to get firmware upgrades. When I had my old fat 80GB PS3 I never gave any personal information to Sony to get firmware upgrades. I simply plugged the PS3 in, turned it on, entered my wifi settings and downloaded a firmware upgrade.

This guy is right. Sony is hiring the wrong people...not that they don't have the money to do both, but really, they should be hiring security experts.

Hacking is not a crime.....its a skill....u should know how to build security...and how to go around it..........its like a Gun.....use it for good and evil

zak 876 hacking is considered a crime when it invates private information. Its computer fraude, invasion of privacy, in this case is very very serious since it affects alot of people. Surely Sony should had a better security, but at same time hackers should be more responsible. If they have a skill use it for good not destroying things . Not cool

Maduece that's way off base. If anything it's closer to a drunk woman, going up to a bunch of drunk men, and wanting sex. Then claim she was raped because she was drunk..

My point is Sony isn't the victim, they started this crap when they took out what they advertised. The only victims in this are the people who had their stuff info stolen. I don't think hotz had anything to do with this. If anon did I don't think they'll use any of the info they did steal. Although I also doubt they had anything to do with this.

But hey who better to blame right?

But there is one thing that he doesn't really actually understand. Growing up I was often told "2 rights don't make a wrong". I've said this hundreds of times and I'll say it again: the idea of "declaring war on hackers" was also partially the fault of hackers who mocked the idea of paying for games in general.

This is why the whole mess with PSN was ridiculous; hackers laughed at CEO's because they'd find a way to pirate games; CEO's laughed back and fought with the tool they mostly were accustomed too (lawyers); hackers laughed again saying "omgz PSN is failing haha". Frankly if this was a content of sorts, its really one of stupidity.

Mr. Hotz (as well as others) may be blaming CEO's for this as karma but in the end, pirating something isn't exactly faultless and I have big issues with how people approached that issue. Sony 'used' to have the "other OS", then came the pirating, then came more pirating, then came stoppage of "the other OS", then came the whining....

I had a friend who made a simple app and makes $1 for the app. Nothing big but its a start. He's not happy when he sees it being torrented. He says "wtf a@@holes, its the price of 2 fkn cheeseburgers, wth". This is what some people are defending when it comes to what Hotz, Anon and others have done. Yes I have moral issues with it. Yes I blame Sony but not because they are a heartless whatever company, I knew that. I wished they handled it better.

Does it matter? No. In the end people will still whine they can't do their homebrewed system [and pirate more games or mod and hack the games they play]. Whatever really. If this is you, really whatever, grow up and learn some responsibilities and move on.

No he was right, hacking is a skill. What these perpetrators did to Sony was theft using their hacker skills.

[citation][nom]Vladislaus[/nom]No he was right, hacking is a skill. What these perpetrators did to Sony was theft using their hacker skills.[/citation]
Exactly.
Good eyes and ears for the night is a skill. To climb over a wall is a skill. To walk beyond lasers without triggering the alarm is a skill. Even if they did not get anything, just entering where clearly told not to enter is a crime. In a perfect world one would not need walls, guards or alarms. Just a sign to keep out. Not defending Sony, but the hackers did so many wrong things. Stealing is bad under most circumstances (some might argue Robin Hood was a good thief. That argument goes off topic). And they did not even just do it for the challenge of it, or for showing Sony how easy it is. Seems not even for revenge on Geohot or anything "noble".
