A system with an MX150 card is OK for games on lower settings. That is for today. In the next few years games will be more and more demanding on the hardware. If you are planning on trying any new games, getting a low end gaming system now is not a good idea. Also the CPU in the lower end systems tend to be low wattage versions which are good for battery but not so good for gaming or video editing.

If you go up to the $800 range you have a lot faster systems to pick from like this https://www.amazon.com/Dell-i5577-5335BLK-PUS-Inspiron-Gaming-Laptop/dp/B06XFGDD8P/ref=dp_ob_title_ce We bought one of my kids this laptop for school a few months ago, she is very happy with it. It is a very balanced system for the price, enough drive space for storing some games, fast enough video card and a quad core CPU.

If you can bump up your budget to $637 + tax you can buy the following Dell laptop that is currently on sale with a Core i5-7300HQ and GTX 1050 which are a lot better than what the $600 Acer laptop has.

Click the following link to see what a difference the extra $37 + tax can make. Remember, the Dell laptop is on sale and there is no indication as to when it will end. The benchmarks for the mx150 and GTX 1050 are from Notebookcheck.net.

That is a great price for the CPU and video card. Only thing that should be changed at some point is the hard drive, it's not even a 7200 platter drive, it's the slower one. Once it's loaded will be fast but part of it being cheaper is the lack of an SSD. Good thing that is easy to swap out at a later time.
