Do polar mounts accurately track the Clark belt satellites
or are they just a compromise, compared to HH mounted dishes?

Or are polar mounts just for BUDs and not for Ku size dishes.

Yes.

I don't see that the physics would be restricted by size.

The information I was seeking: Unless I have misinterpreted
information I have read, the polar mounts apparently were
popular with BUDs and are not popular with Ku dishes. Is
there a reason for Ku dishes to be offered primarily with
HH mounts?

HH motors are just polar mounts with a built-in motor. Typical BUD
installations use a separate actuator to move the dish around on its
polar mount. One unit combining both mount and motor is simpler, but
the size/weight of a BUD necessitates the use of the separate actuator.
(There *are* exceptions, I know.)

Thanks for the explanations, I have a better understanding now.
