Purchased Sept 2016 :- Samsung TV UE43KU6400 TV and Sony sound bar SNY HT XT3 WB W.

My expectations where sky high as I had never had a sound bar system before, but right from the initial set up I realised this system was not going to meet my expectations.

I connected the system using an ARC HDMI cable for the sound, and made all the necessary adjustment i.e. ticked all the necessary boxes within both the Sony and Samsung TV.

When I watch either Free view on both Free Sat or terrestrial TV the sound loudness is no difference from the sound bar to that of the TV speakers. I can appreciate as the sound bar is a Sony system its the sound bar at fault...Yet when I try a different TV connected to the Sound bar the sound is very loud, also if I play music through the sound bar via blue tooth its very loud.

I've been to the local department to discuss this problem with their TV specialist, but he had no idea what a ARC cable was, so I took the complete TV and sound bar back to demonstrate my concerns and they agreed the sound using the ARC cable or Optic cable was very poor.

I've been in contact with Samsung support on 2 occasions, latest was today, and they informed me to go back to the store.
As I paid over £850.00 for this system I expected a really good sound system, what I got was not.
Can someone please advise?

The problem with your question is, is all very subjective. Things like this needs to be resolved before your return-no-question-asked period. If there is a way for you to hook up "something else" to serve as testing comparison... I am talking another speakers.

The store sounds incompetent and vendors, unless you have a complete failure, are not going to help you, no surprise there.

Yes, I agree with what you say about the 30 day rule, and I did make a formal complaint to the store, but then I was away for 2 months and on my return reinstated my complaint with the store who replied only early Dec 16. They stated it was my aerial or my free sat dish, but when I said its the same if I use a DVD, sound still crap.
Today they now state its the aerial splitter , which I don't agree with them as the db loss is hardly anything.

I've checked all the setting, now with supplier to get their support people to come out, their attitude was if they don't find a problem then I pay, that's ok with me. As I've checked with another TV and the sound is as loud as when I play music through the Blue Tooth.
