Lloyd: I want to ask you a question... straight out, flat out... and I want you to give me an honest answer. What do you think the chances of a guy like you and a girl like me... ending up together?
Mary: Well Lloyd... that's difficult to say... you really don't...
Lloyd: Hit me! Just give it to me straight! I came a long way just to see you Mary. The least you can do is level with me. What are my chances?
Mary: Not good.
Lloyd: [Gulps] You mean, not good like one out of a hundred?
Mary: I'd say more like... one out of a million.
Lloyd: So you're telling me there's a chance. Yeah!

[citation][nom]LordConrad[/nom]So many atheists on here.I hope you all find the salvation and peace of mind that only God and Jesus can give.[/citation]

LOL. Don't assume that one is an atheist just because he may think it is in poor taste and sacrilegious to discuss God on a public forum, and display such by mocking those who do. Salvation? Hah! Tell that to all of the innocents that have died in the name of some "holy" religious war,or any war for that matter. No way can a caring God rationalize the killing of an innocent child before he/she has had the opportunity to live a full life.

But you are an Atheist, you don't believe in Allah, Thor or Zeus. Its just that we are Atheist about one more God than you. All babies are Atheists, it is the default position.

Maybe if people didn't believe it was bad to seek Godly power then maybe humanity would succeed at least partly to attain such power, and then maybe as a result of this perhaps humans would at least partially be able to cure all diseases and heal all injuries, among other things, for example.

About evil, all technology gives power and power can be used for good or evil. just because it can all be used for evil doesn't mean it shouldn't be allowed at all. too bad it's not considered evil to hold back the progress of humanity with stupid statements like his.

[citation][nom]700_31337[/nom]If it takes hundreds of thousands of dollars, hundreds of highly-educated, trained, experienced, electrical engineers and comp sci staff, millions of dollars of high-tech equipment, etc. to produce a single CPU, a single GPU, etc. Then do we think that, creation, in all of it's utter complexity and coordination, came out of nowhere? How stupid. Even a single human cell is magnitudes greater in complexity than any microprocessor, and no technology can equal it. "According to calculations by Leonard Adleman of Los Angeles South California University, just 1 gram (0.0022 pounds) of DNA can contain the equivalent amount of data to 1 trillion CDs.38 This shows that data are concealed in a million, million times more efficiently in DNA than in a CD."Another scientific report tells us that DNA, in it's raw form, contains between "between 2 and 30 TERAbytes" of information. That's right kids, DNA contains magnitudes more "DATA" than the Linux Kernel, Windows Kernel, etc. COMBINEDBill Gates once said, "Human DNA is like a computer program but far, far more advanced than any software we've ever created."And think, people today are so blind, they BELIEVE that the UNIVERSE, came about by blind "chance"?Tell me now, what takes more faith?[/citation]give the nerds at intel 2 million years and then get back to me. From nothing to what we have today in less then 100 years is nothing short of "godlike". BTW you logic is A. flawed and B. not even yours...i have th internet too buddy i can look up ray comfort too. Chance a %. That percentage varies but it never get to 0% We are talking about an infinite number here Gump, .0000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000001% of a infinite is still billions. Just because YOUR brain is too low functioning to understand the concept does not mean the concept is not possible.

[citation][nom]sykozis[/nom]Can you prove, beyond any reasonable doubt, that god does not exist? No reason to make this about religion....but, some people actually do believe God does exist as there's absolutely zero proof to the contrary.[/citation]

One cannot not prove either way whether God exists or not. To believe in something simply because there is no proof to the contrary is nothing more than blind faith.

[citation][nom]Anonymous[/nom]The probability of the Earth coming together with conditions supporting life from the supposed imaginable mess told in the Big Bang theory is synonymous with finding a perfectly painted picture laying on the beach after a hurricane.[/citation]
come up with your own thoughts....and BTW if there was a infinite number of both beaches and hurricanes eventually all possible formations between the two would have happened.....last time i checked, hurricanes don't paint...people do. Now if you added a infinite numbers of humans into the equation, the amount of paintings sitting on beaches would skyrocket.

people say the strangest things when it comes to religion. I truly believe in science and evolution. If this was god's doing than the man spent millions if not 2 billion years to set everything in place. That is not even a fair comparison given that we as a species live like what 100 years? or so give or take? That is going IF god exist.

In the other hand how did the big bang happen. what triggered it? This whole "believing crap" is just nothing short of one's person perception. Of course Science can't prove that. Only you can.

@liquidchild disregard the vote I accidentally voted you my bad lol.

I know I will be ignored but, you cannot compare faith to logic.

Faith is the knowing that something will happen. You know in you most emotional form, that the earth will continue to rotate.

You know through logic that the earth is in fact rotating.

You cannot compare the two. One is neurological processing, the other is intrapersonal processing.

I cannot disprove the big bang did not happen just like I cannot disprove God does not exist.

It is a vicious circle of no understanding.

or a coincidence, or just plain being lucky. I don't believe in luck but hey it happens. The way I look of faith is nothing more than putting your mind to it to keep your hopes up. Vs losing all hope and go nowhere. This just shows how little we know about the human brain.

Wow, so much hate... there is no way to rationally prove or disprove the existence of God.

The believer makes a fundamental assumption, namely that reality is not confined to human experience. The athiest also makes a fundamental assumption, that reality is defined by human experience, ie science and technology.

Neither believer nor athiest can justify their fundamental assumption, so trying to rationally assert their position to the other simply fails.

So please, respect other people's point of view, and stop wasting time with pointless arguments that in the end lead nowhere.

For the record, I am a technophile who firmly believes in God.

I know right. People that tries to prove god doesn't exist. How do they know he exists?? where is the proof of that. Lets us first get that out the way before trying to proof that god does not exist. Where do these "believers" pull this information from? out of their collective-asses??

To be an Atheist means you do not believe in any god. Having a belief in one or more gods means you are not an atheist. The innocent start with a belief in a higher power, and it is up to us to reaffirm that belief. If you choose to strip away that belief instead of nurturing it, that is your business.

If there was solid proof, it wouldn't be called "faith". It's a nice word, you should look it up.

Good point.

I have no problem with whatever beliefs someone has (or doesn't have), I just don't want them attacking my beliefs.
