If there's one person who wants to become 'god', it's the pope himself.

I'm glad I don't believe a god exists except in the fictional sense.

Interesting but the Pope is wrong. The non-religious growth rate is increasing faster than ever. The information provided by Technology is providing the means to truth which opens the eyes of many to see religion as the red tape that it is. I'm not saying it is replacing god in the technical since but instead replacing religion which is what I think the pope really meant.

[citation][nom]elusion11[/nom]god doesnt exist, its just a fairy tale for the adults, like santa clause, get your head out of the sand, you old fool.[/citation]
Thank you.

Of course the Pope is going to say that technology can't replace God. According to Catholic doctrine, the Pope is the vicar (replacement) of Christ, and therefore the closest thing to being a god on this earth. He's trying to make sure he doesn't lose his authority. It's all marketing.

Obviously the Pope hasn't seen 'The Lawnmower Man' back in '92 - technology can be used to replace God! Bwahahahahahahaha.... did I just hear my telephone ring?

A lot people here are stating that "god doesn't exist" or "its just a fairy tale for the adults" then how come this universe exist. I mean I thought in order for something to exist there has to be someone to make it.

What he's really saying is there's no technology that will make him able to control billions of people willingly. Religion and 'God' is just something to control the behaviour and habits of people without them knowing it.

Jesus loves each and every one of us more than we'll ever understand.

[citation][nom]jezzjc[/nom]technology (something real) can't replace god (something that doesn't exist), captain obvious![/citation]
Can you prove, beyond any reasonable doubt, that god does not exist? No reason to make this about religion....but, some people actually do believe God does exist as there's absolutely zero proof to the contrary.

There's also no proof that he does exist. In fact, I am going to make my own religion and God right now. He says all others aren't real. Btw, can God make something so heavy he can't lift it? If he can't, then he isn't all powerful. If he can, he isn't all powerful. God loses.

So by that logic realorunreal who created god? I once heard a priest say that "anything as complex as the universe must have a creator". The question posed back to him was "if a system of complexity must have a creator, than is the god you suggest that created the system any more or less complex than the universe itself? and if yes than who created the creator?".

Just want to chime in with god doesn't exist and religion is a joke and a detriment to mankind. Seriously, some of us still believe that crap? Grow up. Seriously.

The Humanization of god is just attempts to understand forces we do not.

If you really think about it, the singularity before the big bang is god as we understand today.
