I am looking for a laptop which is portable enough and has enough battery life for me to carry around all day, but is powerful enough to run games like Battlefield 4 at medium-high settings at 30+ FPS. My budget is around $1500-$2000, but the cheaper the better. I know the Razer Blade can do this, but it is a bit pricy for such small hard drive space, so I'm looking for other suggestions! I'm currently leaning toward the Alienware 14.

Note that I can't carry around anything above a 15.6" screen size, so a 17.3" is out of the question. I also need about 4-5 hours of battery life when using it for word processing and a bit of simple coding. Additionally, a weight of over 5-6 lbs is going to be a bit too much.

Here's what I've looked at so far (and cons as to why I may not get them, although I'm still open to all of these):

  • Razer Blade (Expensive, lackluster display)
    Alienware 14
Lenovo y510p (Dual 750m are not too helpful in games that don't support SLI)

Edit: I'm also completely open to a laptop that may be a bit out of my price range, but I could get refurbished within it.

This is a very good gaming laptop which will play BF4 on High Settings and it might get up to Ultra! :)
And this one will play it on Ultra settings DEFINITELY: http://www.amazon.com/MSI-Series-GT70-2OC-065US-17-3-Inch/dp/B00CU9GLUM/ref=psdc1_t3_B00CU9GKU8_B00CU9GLUM - really good laptop that will play battlefield 4 on max settings.

That Lenovo one is what I was looking at, I was worried about games that don't support SLI not running very well, although I don't know if this concern is warranted.

That website looks very... sketchy. Is Clevo a trustworthy company?
Edit: Also, if I bump it up to an i7 4800 will that add any substantial weight? Also the battery life seems to be not very good.

Thanks for the info, unfortunately it appears that laptop only has about 2 hours of battery life which is nowhere near what I need.

it's about three hours and 30 min. This not the wanted battery time but you can adjust to make the cpu only use 50% of it's full capacity. I can help you achieve that if you don't know how to do it.

The brightness also influenses the battery time.
