Power cable ripped off of computer.

Somehow my asus laptop's on-button cable ripped out of its socket. Do I need to get a new laptop, or can I fix it. Also, my laptop has a keyboard data cable right down the center so I can't get to it to discover more details. I have decent computer parts knowledge so please use real terms. (Like cpu or gpu instead of graphics card or processor.

If you can fix it or not depends on if you can open the system up and check where it connects and replace or reseat it. You can very likely find the service manual or instructions online for your model how to take it apart.
