I have a dell n4030 that when I plug in the cord the fan and hd start immediately as well as all lights. Then I push the power button and all power is shut down. Any help would be great. Thanks, Chris

Trhy it without the battery. It's probably a motherboard issue though, but check the battery first.

Yes, Same thing without the battery. There is a separate powerboard on this model, do you think it could be the powerboard or the main board?

Well the powerboard is a lot cheaper to replace, that would be a good place to start.
