Powered Bluetooth stereo speakers and small central transmitter

My daughter recently moved into a beautiful if modest apartment. I would love to buy her a music system that doesn't appear to exist. I envision a small central unit that she can plug her phone into. This central unit in turn transmits the Bluetooth stereo signal to two speakers. These speakers would be powered units plugged independently into the mains power supply. One would process and play the left stereo sound, the other the right. How would I do this please? Seems logical and reasonable to me but I have never seen it. Thanks
Addendum. Im not looking for a Sonus system. I dont want the cost or complication of an over engineered piece of kit designed for a different situation.

Bluetooth usually won't pair with more than two speakers at once.
If you need more than that then the simple solution is to use JBL bluetooth speakers that are compatible with their Connect+ software. I think that will work for you.
