PowerPoint can't reaad *.ppt

One of our clients has a problem to open a PowerPoint file with PowerPoint can't read *.ppt. I think the file is damaged. How do you recover it?

Tell your client to keep backup of important files. The PowerPoint file is toast if it is corrupted.

Also this is not "opensource software"...

Do a repair and see if it fixes, if not, reinstall over the top.
