Hello everyone. I was looking to buy a new laptop and was hoping for your input.
Following the community guidelines:
1) Budget: <$650
2) 15.6"
3) Don't mind the bulkiness of the laptop. It'll just sit on my desk most of the time.
4) I'd like at least 5 hours of battery life.
5) I'd like to play games like LoL on low-medium settings. Wont be using it for hardcore photo/video editing, just occasional amateur stuff.
6) I would REALLY like an SSD for faster bootup times and snappy response.
7) Don't need an optical drive.
8) I don't want a 2 in 1 or touch screen. I'd much rather have that money in other laptop components.
I would love a good IPS display and decent build quality.
I will mostly use it for watching movies, doing school work, surfing the internet with 20 tabs open simultaneously 😛 and playing occasional games and doing occasional video editing.
Now the issue is that the only laptops that fit these criteria are around $1000 dollars (the XPS comes to mind) and I really don't have the option of buying used laptops. I've been using the HP envy sleekbook 6 for around 5 years now and I absolutely hate it. Hinge broke 4 times, battery is worthless (stays plugged in 24/7), terrible overheating problems etc etc.
I just want to save myself another heartbreak any buy a good laptop 🙁
