Gamestop has an edge here. They buy used games for like $5 and mark the price up 600 to 700%. They have a lot of "wiggle" room with their pricing. While I'm not exact sure what the cost of a new game to a retaielr is. I doubt the mark up is as high as used games.

I've heard that Jack "the Debarred in Florida" Thompson is now in Utah. Maybe GameStop is just trying to get rid of video games with violent content before JtDiFT strikes again.

Honestly, I hope something good still comes from this as both NEW and USED game prices are higher than they should be. At least some initiative was sparked by BB's move but it will most likely be temporary and short lived.

I can't say I didn't see this coming. As agentjon pointed out, GameStop has way to much wiggle room here.

The only real way to take GameStop on is to start your own Used Game kiosk and give more $ per game. This will force GameStop to do the same and take out some of there wiggle.

[citation][nom]Curnel_D[/nom]I stopped going to game stop when their PC game library shrunk to the size of Kmart's. And since there isn't a market for used PC games, this article isn't for anyone who matters.[/citation]

The pc game market is pretty much completely digital

Downloading games straight to xbox/ps3 and wii will eventually be the normal practice and gamestop will go under I predict this to be the norm. I am not saying tomorrow or next week, but at latest the next Gen of console.

Same goes for Blockbuster the days of renting movies are coming to an end; we'll sit @ home and download via internet.

Or you could just buy Red Faction Guerrilla on Steam for $39.99...
...too bad it won't be available until September. Publishers are retarded.

there was a point when the gamestop here in maryland even sold used pc games! those were good times, but as some one already said thier pc library has shrunk to almost nothingness.......i rarely if ever do business with them. one occasion i sold my 360 to them and they actually charged me to fix a rattling fan.....funny thing was the fan only rattled at start up and then would stop......i paid 149.00 for it at a pawn shop and got 36.00 from gamestop......that pretty much ended my dealings with them permanently. they are shiesters and swindlers

[citation][nom]grieve[/nom]^ If only i could edit my posts...That last post I made qualifies me to write for toms LOL![/citation]

You could go to Forums -> 'See my Threads' -> Look at 'News comments' section -> Find the news you commented on and edit it. I couldn't find another way with the standard navigation.

[citation][nom]yadz[/nom]" However, for gamers in West Jordon"where the hell is that?.[/citation]
West Jordan, Utah (Not Jordon :) ) is 30 minutes south of Salt Lake City.
