Pricing error?

It's being reported that the $50 5040 and $150 5080s that were in RTV's
closeout store this past weekend were web site errors, and that the
pricing won't be honored.

FYI.

I believe the "error" is applying a coupon code and getting the units
for $29.95 with free shipping. I ordered 3. DNNA is supposed to be
deciding what to do. The web store is temp closed.

Now you can get $6.95/mo activation on them if you already have one. (43
month breakeven against lifetime).

Moves from a few months to about a year. Lifetime units are worth $200+
more than monthlies.

True, but I'm assuming that one would keep the unit till it croaks and
that it won't croak for at least 43 months. Personally, I'd just do the
$299 deal as I always have.

Exactly. The purpose of my post was simply to show the breakeven point
of Lifetime vs Monthly. The "bet" with monthly is that the unit won't
be used more than 43 months. However, with RTV's new policy to allow the
Lifetime to transfer to a replacement unit of "like kind" if you stock
up on $50 replacements you could go a long time. Of course, in 43 months
one might not care as there will be the "next great thing" that
everybody will want.

That sounds like a good idea, as long as the "grace period" before you
have to activate doesn't start until you first connect the unit.
Otherwise, you'd get some useless Replays.

The problem with this idea is that the actual price is 100 dollars (Well
99) and you get a fifty dollar refund ONCE YOU ACTIVATE

This fifty dollar rebate is a temporary thing, if you do not activate
within the limited time offer period you loose the refund

More accurately, WITHIN 5 MONTHS OR MORE OF ACTIVATION. These rebates
are unreasonably slow. I have bought Replays twice when they offerred
rebates. Both were that slow. Other companies are like that too.

I gues that's true this weekend. Last weekend I bought 2 at $50 each
with free shipping. No rebates to deal with. But that was last week
(some got 'em for only $30!)

Did you get them yet? Or at least are they out of "processing" and have
they shipped?

I ordered mine on Monday, with the intent of returning two 5080s. I
called to arrange the return of the 5080s and managed to confirm that I
got in on the 5040s before they ran out of stock. However, my order is
still in "processing".

I'm not returning the 5080s until my 5040s are at least "shipping" with
a tracking number. But I'm now a little leery of whether I'll actually
get the 5040s.

I got my refurb 5040 last Friday, order date 9/7. I notice the outlet link
shows they're out of stock on 'em now. . .

Mine still shows "Processing" too. Maybe they're waiting for more
returns to come back.

Try entering your order number here:

http://www.digitalnetworksna.com/support/replaytv/order-rma_lookup.asp

When I entered my order number it gave me a tracking number. :)

Mine still showed "processing" for a few days after it actually
shipped. Also, I never got an email telling me it shipped.
