I am using a Primestar dish and have a Pansat 2500 receiver.
The Primstar dish works great to pick KU signal.
My question is? does anybody know if I can put a motor on it to make the
dish move to other satellites?
The pole seems to be larger on the Primestar than other dish that's on the
market.
Has anybody out there try to use HD dish from Dish Network or Direct TV
with the Pansat receiver to pick up FTA signals.
By looking from my neighbors dish, it looks like the size might be the same
as the Primestar and that dish is oval shape like the primestar.
Thanks,

The dish you have should be fine for FTA. You can also motorize it by
mouting it on a STAB HH100 or HH120. You can check the specs on these
motors here: http://www.sadoun.com/Sat/Order/Motors.htm

You will need to use some shims to fill the gap between the motor shaft
( 2 1/8" dia) and the pole bracket on the dish ( 2 5/8" ? )

I'm using an SG2100 motor on my primestar. It works great. I've talked
to a lot of people who have a similar setup, all good reports, except
one. He complained his dish would slip, aparently it wasn't clamped to
the motor tight enough or something. You can use shims (as mentioned) or
replace the existing mounting clamp with one that fits your motor (what
I did). It does require some welding though.
