Problem about my laptop cant install windows XP

dear sir,
I hv laptop of acer travelmat 2200 , and in this latop windows xp not installing it is restarting every time when "ENTER TO SET UP" option displaying in formatting process. sir please give me suggestion for format it from windows xp.

bt xp nt installing in its, i saw in the bios setting there is no any setting regarding AHCI or IDE.

So whats on it XP or windows 98?? I thought you said 98 was on it

yes sir i hv newly installed win98 bt i wanna on it winxp

Well youve tried to install XP but cant. I cant think of anything else that'll work
