Problem after Factory Default Restore (Gateway NV79)

I read the threads, but still shaking heads! When it boots, it says 'Setup is starting services' then I get an error prompt stating "The computer restarted unexpectedly or encountered an unexpected error. Windows installation cannot proceed. To install windows click OK to restart the computer, and then restart the installation. " So I click and I get the loop. When I try to force boot to recovery DVDs, it tells me the the checksum data may be corrupted because it doesn't match, but hangs there. I am at a loss....

Could be a bad hard drive or a bad DVD. Does the BIOS has a drive check option? If not, you can try one of the disk check tools in the Ultimate Boot CD http/www.ultimatebootcd.com/
