Problem with colors when watching videos

Hey guys, just noticed something a bit odd. Was watching a movie and whenever there is a blue or red source of light it shows as some kind of line, like a lens flare effect. Characters that stand near the light then look like ghosts because that line goes over them.

Here is an example from Blade Runner.

Any ideas what might be the problems. I tried both VLC nad Media Player Classics and it's all the same. This only started to show recently.
