Problems with DisplayPort

I have a Lenovo T500 and just bought a new 27" monitor (1920 X 1080). If I plug it in with a VGA cable it works fine but if I use DisplayPort to DisplayPort it doesn't recognize the monitor... any suggestions?

Umm we used to sell these a few years ago...are you SURE its a display port ?

I seem to remember they had a Dock port but NO Display port ???

Thanks for the quick reply... it has the logo on the side and I currently have the DisplayPort cable plugged in (but its the VGA cable that's driving the monitor)... Its a Philips monitor and came with a CD that has a driver but their instructions seem wrong (I can't do what they describe)...

Hi

The fact a display port cable will FIT into the hole does NOT make it a display port....

Check your manual ....
