Wasup people, need some help with knowing if this is a good combo for a computer that i am customizing via hp online store. Does any of these components interfere with the other? Or is there a better way to configure the laptop?

There are not many details to check if they are compatible.

But right of the bat, if this is for a laptop, just go for an I3 instead as I5s are overpriced on laptop and don't provide near as much of an improvement. They are not even quad cores.

What will you be using this laptop for?

so i5's for laptops are not quads? wow, didn't know that, i just thought that they are slower than their desktop counterparts, never knew that they'd go that far.
if that is the case then yes go with i3.

thats why i like desktops better.

lol yes laptops change things A LOT! There are few people on this forum that can suggest laptops safely.

The I5s on laptops are basically I3s that are just clocked slightly faster, like 200MHz usually. Which is not much.

Any laptop processor with a QM(3350QM for example) are the only quads for laptops.

Are you going to play games with this laptop?

Are u considering Laptops from amd's their APU is much more graphic capable and usually cheaper....

(but they are more power hunger except for the new trinity class)

If he's gaming, then get at least an i5 because many modern games use 2-4 cores/threads effectively. And do NOT rely on Intel's IGP or low end discrete GPUs as they will bottleneck an i5 CPU and force you to run the graphics at ultra low. The Lenovo IdeaPad Y580 is a prime example of a decent mid-range Intel build (low end i7 with GTX 660M).

Budget gaming, go with AMD's APUs, preferably the A8 or A10. Great balance of CPU and GPU performance for light gaming at a low price.

Web browsing or any other light tasks, a low end i3 would be sufficient.
