Proper boot device

Hey guys can someone hep me how the settings of boot menu are because i want to install Windows 10 with a usb in my asus laptop and dont want to lose all the files i have there. I had installed windows before using rufus for the usb but the laptop couldn't open without inserting the usb. I saw a solution in one forum for that which said me to activate a previous driver and to shut down in order i could delete that driver. It required the file of windows 10 after it shut down so i entered the usb and it started installing it again. I didnt want that so i went to the boot menu to find i could open my system without installing it again but i got lost there and now i cant even install windows from my usb. Help me please i have get ready for exams and all the files are in my laptop..

Step 1 is always to make a backup so that makes losing data nearly impossible.

in your place I would just use the windows upgrade thats free to owners of win7 and up.

Yes but i had installed 10 pro and worked perfectly now i cant set the boot priorities in the right order to boot from the usb Do you know how to solve it??

Are you trying to install windows from a USB drive or to a usb drive ?
