I am post-grad college student where money is a bit tight right now and my laptop that I have for over a couple of years now is starting to its age since it's been having a hard time running some of the newer PC games. And I was thinking about connecting a egpu to my laptop, but I don't if it's possible on mine. Here are my specs:

Asus N56J Notebook
i7 4700HQ
NVIDIA GeForce 840M 2GB
Windows 10
(if you need more information on specs, let me know.)

Is this model good enough to for a egpu? If so, where exactly do I need look inside for the pcie ports? Is there good guide in order to do this? And what type of gpu will be acceptable? Sorry since I have not done this before and thank you.

Most laptops have the GPU soldered into the main board and this is the case with yours. Unfortunately there is no course of upgrade for you other than investing in a new laptop.
