I can get 2 r9 280x's for 150 euro each or 1 780 for 300 - r9 280x's perform better.

I have a Cooler Master V700
On psu calculator it says reccomended wattage 677 watt and a minimum of 627W (for the entire build) -
Can my PSU handle it ? or should i go with a single 780 ?

Solution
I would go with the 780 to be honest. You would be pushing the PSU and my personal experience with Crossfire was that I ended up using a single card more often than not.

Im not a retard i know the 970 is the best bang for the buck card but these right here are my options. both of the prices of these cards are second hand a new gtx 970 would cost me 400 euros

I wouldn't run 2 r9 280x's on a 700w PSU.. although it should work just fine ( if your cpu/GPUs are not overlocked). What is the rest of your system? I assume your motherboard supports Crossfire and your PSU has enough 6/8 pin connectors?

Just looked up the PSU, its made by seasonic and is a high quality unit. You should be able to run crossfire r9 280x's on it - but like i said i wouldn't overclock anything.

I'd get the GTX 780 and overclock it and your i5 4690k. Crossfire can be a headache and not all games support it. How much is GTX 780 new there? I'd expect like maybe 325? I'd ask if he could lower his price a bit ~275 seems about right for a used GTX 780 imo.

Agree, I quickly became disillusioned with crossfire after picking up my second 280x (luckily I grabbed a used one on ebay for a good price). Most of the time I am running one card and half the games that support the second one are choppy. Don't think I will try dual GPUs again for a long time. Waiting for the next round of nvidia cards to come out and see whats up.
