Question RAM replacement considerations

I have an ASUS vivobook, and was facing BSOD issue, which later turned out to be a RAM issue. So I removed it, and now issue is gone. My motherboard has integrated 8GB RAM too. Now I want to put new RAM in free slot. So I wanted to know if I can just buy a RAM and put it there OR do I need to take into considerations like motherboard etc.
