Hey all. I have an Asus aspire v3 771g 6485 and am looking to upgrade both my ram and hdd to ssd to make my laptop more responsive. I have already decided upon a 250gb samsung evo as my desktop has it in a higher capacity, but was wondering which ram i should get. Apparently my laptop can store 16gb, so i was looking into some g.skill ripjaws. Thoughts? Ideas?

Thanks.

So if i remove my current ram and replace it with www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B006T0CHLA/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?qid=1437495013&sr=8-1&pi=AC_SY200_QL40&keywords=g.skill+ram+16+gb&dpPl=1&dpID=416G7YeBxSL&ref=plSrch it should be okay, right?

Disregard, i need laptop specific ripjaws huh

gskill do so-dimms though quite honestly no idea if theres any benefit in a laptop over bog standard ram

the ssd will be a far more effective upgrade

it has 6gb?

all depends what you use it for but with 6gb you may not need more ram--use task manager to check how much ram you are actually using

the ssd will certainly make a big difference

I will be using it for gaming and multimedia. I play path of exile quite extensively on it. In terms of how much ram it hits at times.. i have seen it at 5.5gb at least in terms of usage. But i also believe i have a disk usage problem with my hdd, it spikes up a lot, so i am hoping the ssd clears that up.

if you see it at 5.5gb the disk usage may be that you ran out of ram and its using the pagefile

so yes you may need more ram if you are seeing ram usage that high
