random black screen on aspire 5735

hi can anyone help. my aspire 5735 started getting black screen but was starting up and running no problem. discovered if i tilted laptop it came on half the time and ran with no problems. now i get black screen more often and struggling to get it on. worked on a monitor for awhile. any help would be appreciated

Does your Laptop heat up fast after switching it on ? if it does get your fan cleaned. a dirty fan can course over heat on your board/CPU and make your screen go black. Hope you get your problem solved.

Hi Geevaro, the fan is clean turns easily and I can hear it when laptop heats up. I've discovered that if I press fn and f6 the screen works for a few seconds then goes black again doh. I get the feeling it's maybe a driver or bio problem. Has anyone had this problem before?
