Random shut downs after 15 minutes then it won't even run for a minute

Hi I have an acer aspire 5552G and after about 15 minutes it shuts down and after that I have to wait for an hour or so to go again or it will only last for about a minute.. It also asks for a chkdsk when it starts but it always fail so I abort

I'd be inclined to believe thermal problems here, you can download CoreTemp http://www.alcpu.com/CoreTemp/ to check your temps. I'd also be inclined to believe that the laptop is in dire need of a thorough physical cleaning. If it seems too overwhelming of a task, you can take it to a local PC shop for service and cleaning but I will recommend it be done.

While that is not the only possibility, it is the most common issue
