Hp Pavilion DV6358 special edition.
In my opinion...the good parts:

Intel core 2 duo T5300 @ 1.73 Ghz (533 mhz fsb)
2 Gb of DDR2 PC-5300 ram (667 mhz)
160 GB hard drive (5400 rpm)
12 cell battery
Windows vista home Premium
built in wireless card and web cam.
15.4' HD widescreen

The bad:

Intel media accelerator built in graphics card...(terrible) My pc has a windows experience index of 2.2 because of the graphics card.

thanks in advance for the replies, im just curious what some of you guys think and maybe point out some possible improvements.

haha, as soon as i got my hp laptop (dv2418ca) i took vista off. i spent 20 minuts with it and i just couldn't handle the frustration. There were too many useless programs preinstalled. Took forever to find the application to get rid of them. My boot up time for vista was.... aprox. a 1min. My xp boot up time was 20 seconds. I was never planning on using vista home.... imo its a pos

edit- haha forgot to rate your system. how much did you pay for it btw? if its under 1000, not bad. i would have opt'd for a model with a higher processor. However, there isn't much you can do to improve your system. You already have the optimal amount of memory, and the video card issue ... well you will just have to live without gaming ^^

yes its a 1300 dollar pc which i got for 999.99 at bestbuy. i love to play CS source once in a while and with everything on low settings even, i get about 25 fps on a good day. its often very glitchy and disappointing. the processor i believe is fine for everything im doing...IMO its better then any single core processor and will handle everything a student needs to do just fine and then some.
