I would like to connect a phono with RCA out to HDMI input on my audio receiver.

Well if you trying to connect a turntable, then you need a preamp as well. I would use the optical input as not a lot of devices off HDMI output just for audio. It says TV as that's what what most people would connect to it. It should just be AV1 in the input list. That said.

You could try to find a phono preamp with optical output, which seems to be hard to find from a quick google anyways, but that would do it. Less elegant but working solution would be simple phono preamp, and than a rca to digital convertor.

Looking at pics, you could go optical or digital coax.

I must be missing something here. What I see on Amazon converts optical-or coax to rca, not the other way around. Can you cite a product in Amazon!?
