I have a macbook pro5,5 which is 2.26 ghz and I am planning on upgrading the thing to 8 gb of ram and Crucial M500 120GB SATA 2.5-Inch I was the best parts so if anybody could reccomend 8gb of ram and a budget (But still fast) ssd that is 120 gb. The problem is that I don't know how to transfer my data to the new ssd but I know that I have an external hdd and I am buying snow leopard too and from there get mavericks for free. How much of a speed increase would I get with 2 gb of ram and 5400 rpm 180 gb hdd. Responses are greatly appreciated!!! Thanks,
Noah

Well, from HDD to SSD, the difference is that your system will just feel much zippier with everyday use. For an SSD, I recommend the 128GB Samsung Evo 840 Pro, as it reaches very high speeds. As for the memory increase, a Windows system would definitely see a performance increase, but I'm not as sure about Mac OS. However, it's a considerable upgrade I would recommend.
