I started learning development for Android. To that day, I have been using emulator but I decided to buy any smartphone to make easy testing applications. I highlight that I am not a professional developer- I am newbie.

So I am asking for to recommend me any smartphone which will be a good choice.

It is important to me to mobile phone be a relatively cheap.

P.S. What is important in choosing mobile phone for testing?

1) Nexus devices are Google’s official reference and developer platform.
2) Nexus devices also allow easy bootloader-unlocking, which makes it possible to install custom ROMs and root the device very easily. They are intended for developers, after all.
Read this: http://www.howtogeek.com/139391/htg-explains-why-android-geeks-buy-nexus-devices/
and i am sure that you will took one of the Nexus series ;)

Ok,
Thanks for your posts! :)
But, if somebody wants write something else, welcome. :)

EDIT:

I consider buy something relatively old ( I mean 2010-2012). They are cheap. There is one problem- they have installed an Android 2.x
But from what I know I could upgrade/root them.

What do you think about it?

The 1+ fone is a beauty ... nothing compares on price / performance ... except the new one plus 2 coming out.

You can pick these up all over the place now.

Slamdunks any of the I-rubbish and Sammy's.
