Question Record 1080p video trough usb in windows

Hi,

When I connect my external camera to my laptop to record video trough usb,
Windows only allows me to record in 720p.

Is it possible to record in 1080p trough usb?

And yes, the camera on is own records in 1080p, if not connected to the laptop.

USB itself should not limit the speed, depends on the capabilities of the recorder and if your USB spec is fast enough.

so...when you say recorder, are you talking about the camera or the software used to record?
because if are talking about the software, I tried a bunch of them, and always get the 720p.

I have usb ss and usb ss lightning, shoudnt that be fast enough?

Camera, you did not give any details about what you are using.

Are you using the camera as a webcam? It may be that it just shows up as a 720p camera to the system, you'd have to go through the manual to see if there is anything about using it as a computer camera.
