Hi all,

I was wondering if it is possible to do a screen recording from a PC to a Macbook Pro. Similar to what you can do with a capture card from a console to a pc.

Thanks a bunch, also sorry if this is in the wrong place.

You can probably do that, but you'd still need the capture card since the macbook doesn't have any video inputs. The capture card would be able to send the signal to the macbook via USB.

Ok thanks. It would prolly just be easier to buy screen capture software for my PC instead.
By chance do you have any recommendations for a good HD Screen Capture software for PC?

What are the specs of your computer. If it's good enough or if you have the right hardware you can do it with software. Otherwise you might need to use a hardware capture card like the Elgato.

i5 3670k
8gb RAM
AMD 7950
AS ROCK PRO4 atx board

Your PC is well enough to do screen capture, if it is gameplay you are trying to capture I recommend Fraps.

But if you wish to record your PC to your MacBook you should invest in a capture device, I recommend Elgato Game Capture HD, It works with both Mac and PC and the quality is great and also you'll be capturing externally so you won't be putting any strain on your PC.

The Elgato captures in MP4 formats so the files will be native to Mac and you can edit in any program you like, also you can capture in 1080p 30fps or 720p 60fps which ever you feel is best for you.

Hope this helps you out!
