Solved! Recovery cd will not finish on acer laptop

Hello,i have a set of cd's sent from acer to restore my laptop, however it will go all the way through but does not finish...what could be wrong

Faulty HD?

Is that the same HDD that came with the laptop?
Did you do anything to that HDD?
Is the version of Windows installed the same as came with the laptop?

Run a RAM test too. I've seen bad RAM cause file copy errors while installing an OS.
