Archived from groups: alt.video.ptv.replaytv (More info?)
I would like to be able to remap any channels on my 4040. I believe that I
have the ReplayTV software version 4.30.
I've searched the web and I haven't been able to find much on this subject.
I get the feeling that people either do not need to remap channels, or the
replay unit is somewhat difficult to access.
I've searched the AVS site and found one thread on the subject that's about
two years old (concerning httpfs.exe), but I was wondering if anything new
has developed on this subject.
It's my understanding that the file "httpfs.exe" can retrieve the necessary
file that contains the channel information. It's also my understanding this
file will not work properly in a ReplayTV that has version 4.30. Is this
still true, or has there been an improved version of "httpfs.exe" that can
operate in ver.4.30? Where can I find the "httpfs.exe" file? I can't seem to
locate a version to download.
I understand that "extract_rtv" is capable of extracting files, but the hard
drive has to be removed from the replay unit and installed into my computer.
I haven't read too much on the "extract_rtv" subject, so I'm not sure if all
of the files are downloaded, or if certain ones can be chosen. However, I'm
really not that interested in this method, mainly because of the hassles and
time surrounding this method, especially if this needs to happen several
times.
Basically, I would like to easily access this replay file that contains the
channel information, so that I can make any necessary changes.
