[citation][nom]11796pcs[/nom]I love it! Explosions after explosions after explosions and at the end Psycho is like "now that's what I'd like to see"- hilarious, actually one of the better trailers I've seen in a while. The only thing bad about all of this is that some console players think that the XBOX 360 and PS3 are top-of-the-line hardware (morons I know). Whenever we PC gamers bring up Crysis now they will think they know what Crysis in its full glory looks like. We will still have to drag them to our systems and show them "the way it's meant to be played" (no pun intended, I actually run ATI). I will say that it is amazing how much power developers have been able to get out of consoles (ex. Halo: Reach and Crysis 2). I hope though that console-players keep in mind while playing that Crysis will still look better on a PC and that they respect that fact that Crysis is like the top of Mount Everest for PC gamers (add a couple classics like HL2 and I guess Doom and you're there). I'm also glad they aren't giving console players the ability to play online (that would probably make the game unplayable for them anyway )[/citation]

crysis is only well known because of the great graphics, no matter how unoptimized it was. its not bad, but not epic unless you cant get enough pretty graphics.

[citation][nom]scook9[/nom]People are judging picture quality based off of crappy compressed YouTube videos? Idiots....This will look as good as any other game on PS3/Xbox 360. I am a die-hard PC gaming fan but am actually pretty excited for this as my brother has a PS3 and thought Crysis was pretty awesome when watching me play it on my desktop.[/citation]

I watched in 720 P no flash compression and was still bad in comparison to PC

Looks like I accidentally posted twice. Sorry about that.

I still stand by my statement no matter how many negative votes it gets. The console crowd is dumb for so many different reasons.

The problem with the original Crysis wasn't that it was pirated and didn't sell, it's that Crytek over hyped it more than any other game in history, and when it came out it was basically a graphics tech demo. Gameplay was ok, and the whole if you can see it you can destroy it, or if you see it you can drive it, was all bologna. It was neat at first, but for me single player became boring. To this day, i never finished the game. It should have been free roam like just cause, there should have been more alien types, more ammo, weapons, vehicles should have been accessable like they are in multiplayer, the suit should have about 4 times more power reserve, and the enemies should have been smarter. I still like the game, and I own (actually payed for) Crysis (have 2 copies), Crysis warhead, Crysis wars, and Crysis 2.
I waited for Crysis for a year and a half, and they kept pushing it back, and pushing it back, and pushing it back, and then the game came out, and I was so disappointed. Don't get me wrong, I had fun with it, but it just wasn't the game they made it out to be.
Even Crysis 2, it's an awsome game, awsome, but it was lacking in a few area's. I truly believe that they had the capability to make it free roam, but they just didn't. IMO It would have been 10 times the game if it was. Always makes me wonder what the game developers are thinking.
Wish I was a game developer. If only I had the time to go to school.

Probably runs at 30fps. I know many people cant pervieve anything higher, but for me it has to be at least 60fps for a first person shooter. Hopefully, there'll be motion blur so it doesnt look AS bad.

Tom's has been like that for a while now.. Just use Adblock Plus on Firefox/Chrome and you don't have to see them.

i dont buy games with motion blur because it makes me sick in almost every implementation.

It's been longer than "a while". Tom's has been like that as long as I have been coming around here, and that has been at least 7 years now.

I use to think of Crytek with reverence but after what they did with Crysis 2 I could care less about what they do. A flash in the past is all they are. 2 great games then lost in console obscurity.

That's a way to put it. The claims of "piracy is ruining the PC!!1" is just a more recent cop-out excuse. Moreover, I think it's just that on consoles you can more readily get away with shoveling 70% recycled content and demanding the full price of entry again.

[citation][nom]upgrade_1977[/nom]The problem with the original Crysis wasn't that it was pirated and didn't sell, it's that Crytek over hyped it more than any other game in history, and when it came out it was basically a graphics tech demo.[/citation]
Pretty much this. Crysis wasn't a great game by any real stretch of the imagination. Sure, it looked amazing, but that wasn't enough. It was the infamous load it placed, (in part due to raw demand, and partly due to poor optimization) that granted the game a place enshrined in history.

The irony, of course, was that Crysis sold AMAZINGLY well; In fact, it Out-sold Far Cry, netting 3+ million sales. To compare, that bests the MAJORITY of well-known Xbox 360 shooters, in spite of the 360 supposedly being the "real audience" for FPS games; it did as well as both Mass Effect games COMBINED, and also better than Fallout 3, Bioshock, every single Tom Clancy's game on the 360, and so on; it'd be tied for 12th-best-selling 360 game with Halo 3 ODST, and FPS-wise, behind only Halo 3, Halo: Reach, both Modern Warfare games, Black Ops, and World at War. (read: all CoD or Halo)

Somehow, even if we consider Crysis to be a "hallmark" of successful PC games, I don't think that when it's trading blows with the very most-successful franchises that immediately pop to mind when one thinks "360 FPSes," I just don't buy the argument that it's "not doing well enough" and that a push to ignoring the PC audience in favor of the consoles is justified.

[citation][nom]marraco[/nom]Looks better than Crysis 2.Given that modern videocards are 10X more powerful, it show how sadly wasted they are.[/citation]
I presume you mean the CONSOLE version of Crysis 2. Of course, I'd certainly hope that a subsequent console release would look better, given that they'd had time to better tweak the loading.

Crytek chose to develop an engine with the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 in mind. The resulting Crysis sequel is a game that ....

... that flopped with the critics, but will probably make more money than the highly rated first game, with the idiotic masses hyping consuming this mediocre product for a year or two, and then forgetting that it exists, when the next of endless sequels in the franchise comes out, much like any other garbage published these days ...

There is a HUUUGE probability it will look very well. Basicly, if the coding is more efficient, the game will look great. Ofc it is downgraded from the PC version, and probably a lot of things have been reduced (texture size, view distance details, Antisotropic quality, and some more that i dont even remmber).

I think many console gamers, after seeing this game in consoles will feel tempted to see it on pcs.
Its true that most games for consoles are lower quality than pcs, but mainly its becouse a pc gives you more options, not just the extra muscule.
That beeing said, I have tested this game on a laptop (p7350 cpu and 4670 gpu) with a 40 inch tv and it looked really good, so i guess console versions will look good as well.

Now i have a 32 inch tv, a beasty pc, and when i turn on crysis, it still looks great.
I wonder if they will try to make Metro 2033 for consoles :D.

Eventually, most console users will get a pc (we get older and need a pc for work, so why not get a good pc and have both, right?), but consoles have an extra thing : you can play team games with no internet with the person next to you.

Thou there are some games that simply cant be console version, mostly RTS :D.

[citation][nom]alyoshka[/nom]Any idea if it'll come out remastered for the PC too?If so, I'm certainly getting one......[/citation]

Actually, if they just added extras to the pc version... well hardly but id definitly think about it.
Thats why there are some of those mods out there to improve graphics, but mostly they are just eye-candy cheates to fool your eyes.

There are basicly no more trends to focus on making "good PC games".

Look at BLizzard and how many peple its pissing off since WoW, look at Crysis 2 ofc, Look at Deus EX 3 (wich is still a great game, but it could be TONS better).
Right now im waiting for ME3 and Skyrim. If those 2 turn out to be as bad as i unfortuantelly expect them to be, Im assuming ill stop buying pc games at all, and play old games i still love till today. (we are talking about baldurs game times, broodwar times, dungeon keeper, etc).

Now, the companies see it simple: You make Call of duty MW1, MW2, Black ops, etc etc, on consoles: You are rich.
You make a PC only game: You cover the costs and earn reasonably high benefits.... What would you do?

Oh but dont worry too much about the whole "piracy, we going to consoles" thing.
As soon as PC games slowly die, hackers will: Hack console games, Hack those games so we have them for free on the pc.
The companies probably know about that already and thats why they are trying to get a high income for 1-2 years.
