I recently ran an executable from a dodgy site, resulting in a **** ton of malware infecting my system. I have removed most of it, but this one piece of adware still lingers.
When I switch tab to Chrome, I am redirected in a new tab to some dodgy websites, pop-ups, porn sites, etc.
I have tried:
- Scanning with Malwarebytes and removing anything detected
- Scanning with AVG and removing anything detected
- Scanning with adwcleaner and removing anything detected
- Checking through recently installed programs
- Checking through system tasks
- Checking through the registry
- Checking processes in Task Manager

Could anyone help me with this?

Reinstall Chrome may not solve the problem because it doesn't wipe the profile folder first.

Rather just remove anything inside the profile folder, and you shouldn't need to reinstall Chrome.

Just remember you'll loose any bookmarks and settings.
