Removing personal data from Lenovo s10

I am getting ready to sell a used Lenovo s10 netbook and want to remove all of the data and programs I have installed before shipping it to the new buyer. How do I do that?

A decent and free software utility program is File Shredder

I think a clean install of the OS after doing a wipe is a great idea to finish things up.
