Removing SD card when apps are installed on it

Hi all. I have a Samsung galaxy J5, and have stored a fair amount of apps and games on my sd card. I was just wondering, what would happen with my apps settings and installation should I remove the sd card? I will be putting the same card back in the phone soon after. I was thinking thay if I switch the phone off it should be fine. Any opinions?

You should be fine, you'll just get an error when trying to open an app that is installed on the SD card. However, I haven't tested this.
