Replacing a Thinkpad 380ED CMOS battery

I need to replace the CMOS battery in my Thinkpad 380ED laptop. I found the battery but there is a cover holding it in place. Can someone tell me how to remove the battery?

the battery slides out the open end of the hold down
use a small screwdriver ... it will pop right out
