Replacing GPU in a laptop. Is there any "unstable" stuff going on?

I'm not exactly sure what the computer repair shop meant. He said he need to test the replaced GPU in my Lenovo Y50 FHD and need more than well 1 week. What unstable? Just stress test the GPU is enough. Is there anything to move on?

I think 1 week is too long in my opinion. Yes, I would suggest a stress test that should tell you right away if there's a problem or not.

Should you even trust to leave your hard disk to the repair shop? I'm worried if they steal my data 🙁
