[citation][nom]c4v3man[/nom]Good for apple, getting a high resolution display into their next generation tablet. ~~ Going from 800x480 to 960x640 is hardly perceptible during normal usage, let alone revolutionary.[/citation]
When it comes to looking at photos, icons, etc - the Retina display is beautiful, in its own right. I'd love to see Samsung with a high res screen like that - but what we get is simply a bigger screen.
I can see the pixels under normal usage on my Galaxy S phone... as well as on my iPad and even my 24" 1920x1200 screen. On my Win7 desktop with its folder-icons, their are jaggies - well any icon that has angles. They wouldn't be there with double the res... or be harder to notice at even 2550x1440 on a 24" screen.
The other display that SUCKS is the LCD Photo frames. $30~80, the 6~7" frames are 640x480! Get an 8~9" and the resolution is a bit higher- but on a bigger frame! ARGH!
