i'm so sick of this carrier exclusive bullshit. it's all a fucking racket. that's why i don't own an iphone or any fancy phone. cell carries rip people off and hire the true cost of things from the consumer so they can continue to make a killing.

I would like to know where the people who said that Att has extended the contract again, are getting their facts? I have surfed around read a lot of tech reviews and Googled it and got nothing but the fact tat Att is trying to extend it. That's a Hugh difference from the fact that they have extended it. I got to say I had sprint for 4 years before I switched to Verizon and and have been so happy have yet to find a place in Texas where I have no coverage. I would love to get a iphone if it comes out for Verizon myself

If Verizon launches the iPhone 4G by 7/1/2010 I will switch over completely from AT&T. I want an iPhone having made the wrong decision buying the BlackBerry and AT&T is the biggest rip off of a network out there right now. Verizon is only slightly better in price but $10 is a big difference per month when you are already paying more then you do each month for a cell phone than your cable internet, tv and VOIP phone service from Comcast.

[citation][nom]lspce[/nom]definently not, the only carrier worse than AT&T is Verizon. Verizon's coverage area (atleast in Texas) is WAY worse than AT&T. I travel to remote places in Texas on a monthly basis and my AT&T phone NEVER loses signal. My coworker has Verizon and he is constantly using my phone. This is a horrible idea, please go back to AT&T for iphones.[/citation]

Huh. I can get a signal from El Paso to the middle of Texas and my grandparents live in the middle of nowhere in a 1K population town and my Verizon phone works about 10x better than their AT&T phone.

As for your friend, if he has a crappy phone that might be the problem.

As for the iPhone, I wouldn't buy a iPhone but if it does go to Verizon, then AT&T will be screwed.

seriously...i love the iphone and all but when you look at your friends standing next to you and they all have one too...it's really not that great anymore. Apple needs a new device with different appearance...this sh*t is getting old.

[citation][nom]appleItech[/nom]I have been with AT&T ever since the first iPhone was released and I have not had any problems what so ever with them. There service is far greater than Verizon's poor customer service, and being the fact that AT&T has taken on the load and not been crippled by the fact of hosting the iPhone while making major improvements to their network is pretty good. Those thinking that Verizon hosting an iPhone will be outperforming, will be very pissed when the day comes of Verizon/iPhone exclusivity agreement and find that VERIZON Sucks.[/citation]

I don't know what US you live in, but just because you had a bad experience with them does not mean that they have poor customer service. In fact, they are consitently rated as #1 in customer service (sometimes tied with or closely followed by TMobile). AT&T follows in third with sprint almost always comming in last.

And AT&T has done anything but take on the load and enhance their network. Did you completely miss the stories of people in NY and LA who COULD NOT MAKE ANY CALLS because their network was over congested? They did not have the capacity to support the iphone at all and it took them MONTHS to add that capacity. Verizon spends more $/subscriber on their network and towers than any other company. If any company can handle the added strain, they would be the ones. Even without the iphone and before they bought US Cellular, VZW had positive customer churn meaning they were ADDING subscribers, not loosing them. Before the iphone, AT&T was having negative churn.

Am I the only person who loves the fact that CDMA is the only cell phone frequency spectrum that doesn't interfere with amplifiers? Avoiding having my phone by my stereo, computer speakers, dashboard, wireless mic, mixing console and whatnot would be a drag.

Does anyone know if the 4G LTE frequencies are like the CDMA or GSM?

iPhone on Verizon = ATT f**ked. Cant wait my self if only to watch AT&T suffer. However, I am biased, as there is no company I hate worse than AT&T. I find them to be a half ran counter-organized outfit with their primary goal being to screw the customer in every hole. This goes for AT&T wireless & wireline.

Negative. You might want to run over to Engadget and look at the court documents they found about the iPhone being exclusive to AT$T until 2012

You people need to get your heads out of your asses. Any Apple News is not news and you guys as well as other tech sites keep making this mistake time and time again. Verizon is not getting an iPhone. This has been reported by Engadget as well as others but finally confirmed today by Apple.

Now for my Two Cents - Apple is full of idiots. Why in the world would you develop one of the best phones in history only to saddle it to the worst network in the United States for five years. It worked for the short term. The number two handset only behind rim but what about the long term. For the long term they need Verizon but now Verizon no longer needs Apple. Because the Android phones are kicking Apples ass. More options for handsets to fit every need and budget. The OS is Open compared to Apples. Freedom to customize and do what you please.

[citation][nom]husker[/nom]Can you intentional misuse established terminology related to your product to mislead people? Calling there device "4G" and making up a new meaning is deceptive. Can an automaker advertise a car as having 550 HP, when what they really mean by HP is "hamster power"?[/citation]
How many people buy imacs because they don't get virus?

Most if not all cars are misleading when it comes HP... when you buy a car that has 250 HP its not @ the wheels... you really got 190!

We the consumer is always mislead, one must relise this and educate themselves on the roduct before purchase.

i would so but the iphone on verizon......i love that phone and i love verizon. if its all true and they really do have the iphone for verizon alot of people are out ofluck but i sure will be among the first to pick one up,
