How to Use the Roku App to Provide Voice Search Commands

Isn´t it really useful to just tell your device whatever is it that you want to watch? With other devices offering that option, Roku couldn´t be the exception and lag behind. Sometimes you just want to sit in your couch and demand the entertainment system to entertain you. Some models of Roku TV have the built-in button in the remote control. If the one you own doesn´t, don´t worry, because there is an app for it (as for everything else). Just use the free Roku App in your smart phone (available for Android and iOS) and tell your phone what you want your Roku Device to play on your screen.

Step 1
Launch your Roku Mobile App

Step 2
Go to the 'Search Page'
To enable the search page, hit the ‘Magnifying Glass’.

Step 3
Tell your Smart Phone What you Want to See
Tell your smart phone what you want to see by pushing the little microphone on the far-right side of the search bar. Once you are done, hit the big one in the center of the screen. What you dictate to your Roku device will appear in the screen right away.

■ It is important for you to note that both devices have to be connected to the same network for this to work; otherwise it will not do anything at all. If you are at home, then all your devices might be on the same network every day, but if you are in a public place like a hotel, you might want to check on that.
