when i turn on the computer it says no bootable device. is there any way for me to restore to factory setting

Not if it won't see the hard drive, that is where the restore partition is kept, and you need something it can see to restore it on even with a DVD / CD set.

Need some background to the issue, was the system dropped or anything else? Try re-seating the hard drive, check the BIOS boot options to make sure your hard drive is listed there and is in the boor order list. Sometimes the drive is there but the boot order does not list it and you have to add it back in.
