Retrieve pictures from a deactivated Android Galaxy J-3 phone

I no longer have service on my Samsung Galaxy J-3 telephone I would like to transfer my pictures contacts exedra to my new HTC phone can it be done and if so how thanks

connect it to a pc and transfer the picture. or use a sd card

If it is on an SD card put it in the PC and recover your stuff. If it is on the device, you need to turn it on first. Having service on it is not really required.
