Retrieve text messages

Older but but fairly recent Retrieve text messages disappeared from screen of LG phone. How do I retrieve them?

Normal text messages just show up in your messaging app. So you should just need to open that app. Now if you are getting the messages through some other app (not the standard came with the phone messaging one) then you will have to look in the app you are getting them through.
