I bought one at Office Max, but carton is unopened.
Having 2nd thoughts.
Amazon reviews also report slowness: http://www.amazon.com/Dell-Inspiron-i3541-600BLK-15-6-Inch-Laptop/product-reviews/B00K4PAZPQ/ref=dp_db_cm_cr_see_all_top?ie=UTF8&showViewpoints=1&sortBy=bySubmissionDateDescending
The AMD A6 6310 is rated at 2369 at Passmark:

The reviewed machines have Win 8.1; my unopened machine has Win 10.
Are 4 GB not enough for Win 10? Shall I use it for PCLinuxOS?
Thanks.

I wound up keeping and using the machine. It's peppy, far far faster than "glacially slow." One trick was to stop Mcafee anti-virus software from "consuming" the hard drive. And Dell support is great. They provide a link to the mothership. Already the BIOS has been flashed with an update, and Dell has sent me a USB stick containing Windows 10 so I can reinstall Windows 10 after using Linux. Battery is external, DIMM is easily accessed under a flap on the back, max is 8GB. Original Nov 27 Office Max sale price was $200, reduced to $150 about a week later.

If you are satisfied with it, that is all that matters!
Glad you got a good value.

It's all a matter of perception.
I'm sure to many of us, it would still be slow.
